After the death of McQueen, the fashion world desperately needs Olivier Theyskens back. We need a designer who brings dark and hauntingly beautiful clothes, the "goth wunderkind" look back to the runway. Yes, his clothes are rather outrageous in price, but his designs are museum-worthy pieces. Who knows, maybe he might take over the McQueen house. One can only hope. Claessen released a book on his past collections for Rochas and Nina Ricci that his followers can admire for now until he comes back on the scene. How can you not love his creations?
I love the drama in this editorial. It tells a story that is up to the reader to decide. Fashion is at it's best when there's fantasy, escapism and glamour involved.
